tEMPORARY aRCHITECTURE sMALL tEMPORARY pODS

pROJECT gOALS and oRGANIZATION

My project will investigate the relationship between architecture, social economic and art. However, instead of relying on the ‘permanent’ architecture, this research will focus mainly on temporary architecture. Evidently, this piece of temporary architecture will need a function and its purpose such as inhabitation, shelter, enclosure and spatial quality. Reflecting upon this, my project will be about expressing the lifestyle of the urban community through temporary architecture, where they will be forced to interact and respond to the activities within. On the other hand it will be exhibited as a piece of art, a light feature sculpture. At the same time, it is also to bring awareness on the urban environment and to learn more about them.

The city is a place for our activities to go on, a place where we shares our life with the others. Therefore, it is apparent that cities themselves also become a showcase of human existence and performance. As the buildings and urban form experience time, they exhibit movement, changes, actions, communication, behaviour and noises which all marks existence within the urban environment. Thus buildings and architectural spaces become the skin of our existence. As the urban world has slowly become busier and compacted, my interest is to express human life through architecture as an art. My intention is to create a temporary architecture with the same concept as the Public Art Lab to expose the urban community to the public and at the same time as a piece of art.
